Donn Haedtke grew up along the Mississippi River in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He graduated from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School in the early 80’s. He later graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College with Associate Degrees in Industrial Electronics, and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In 2005 he graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management. 

In 1983 Donn married his high school sweetheart, Kathy, and they are still happily married. When Kathy graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 1988, they moved to Lake Havasu City. They purchased their home in Havasu in 2001.

In 1990 Donn was hired by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, at the Iron Mountain Pumping Plant. Over his 29 year career, he worked along the Colorado River Aqueduct. He started at an entry level position and was promoted several times throughout his career. In his last 16 years, he held managerial positions at the Eagle Mountain and Julian Hinds Pumping Plants, as well as for the Control Systems Team. Part of the managerial duties included planning and managing their team’s portion of the operational and project budgets. This experience suits Donn well as the new Treasurer for the Lake Havasu Historical Society.
