Melanie Preston,


Board President

 

Melanie currently serves as the President of the Lake Havasu City Historical Society, a role she has held officially since 2022, following an interim position starting in 2021. Melanie has been an integral part of the society's growth since joining the board.

In addition to her role with the Historical Society, Melanie is deeply involved in Havashire Festivals Inc., where she serves on the Board of Directors in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Her journey with Havashire began as a community volunteer for the inaugural London Bridge Renaissance Faire event in 2015. Over time, she took on the role of Executive Director, showcasing her commitment to providing distinctive and educationally based experiences to the residents of Lake Havasu City.

Beyond her board engagements, Melanie is a dance instructor at Footlite School of Dance in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Her leisure activities include creating choreography, painting, and working on historically themed crafting projects.

Melanie is not only a seasoned board member but also holds the title of a certified CTA (Certified Tourism Ambassador) ambassador, furthering her commitment to promoting tourism and enhancing visitors' experiences.

Additionally, she is a 2023 graduate of the Lake Havasu Leadership program through the Lake Havasu City Chamber of Commerce. This achievement reflects her dedication to personal and professional growth, as well as her investment in the development of Lake Havasu City's vibrant community.

With a background that includes management experience at Sears Roebuck & Co. and Ralph Lauren, Melanie brings valuable leadership skills to her roles. She holds an associate degree in Humanities from Mount San Jacinto College in California, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and education.

Melanie's drive to see the Lake Havasu City Historical Society flourish stems from her desire to make it a cultural and educational destination for both tourists and locals. She envisions the museum as a vital community hub, preserving the unique history of the town and providing enriching opportunities for generations to come. As a board member, Melanie is honored to contribute to the society's success and witness its continued growth.
