Lake Havasu Museum of History Celebrates
the Next Chapter for Executive Director

The Lake Havasu Museum of History is excited to announce the next step in the journey of its current Executive Director, Jillian Usher, as she takes on a new leadership role. Since November 2021, Jillian has made an incredible impact on the museum's growth and development, and while her departure is bittersweet, we are thrilled to see her embrace this exciting opportunity.

Jillian Usher joined the Lake Havasu Museum of History in August 2020 as the Director of Communications and quickly proved her exceptional skills and dedication. In November 2021, she was promoted to the position of Executive Director, continuing to excel and lead the organization to new heights.

Starting in June, Jillian will be assuming a leadership position at the newly opened coworking space, Nomadic, under the Partnership for Economic Development. The Lake Havasu Museum of History couldn't be happier for Jillian as she embarks on this thrilling new chapter. Her new role at Nomadic will involve a diverse range of responsibilities, including facility operations, membership, community collaborations, tours, and culture-building programming.

Throughout her tenure as Executive Director, Jillian Usher spearheaded several remarkable initiatives, such as the Young Curators program, the Hidden History of Havasu exhibit, and the Kids Spot Saturday Classes. She also played a pivotal role in transforming the museum into a digitally accessible institution by spearheading the digitization of its collections.

Reflecting on her time at the Lake Havasu Museum of History, Jillian expressed her gratitude to the board members, volunteers, and community members who supported her and the museum's vision. She said, "I want to thank every single board member, volunteer, and community member who took time to help the museum stay operational and move towards a new era. Through the dedication of our board and volunteers, these programs have helped bring new life and a clear vision for the museum. Furthermore, I want to thank you all for the ways you have helped me grow as a person, a leader, and as a friend."

The Lake Havasu Museum of History will now begin the search for a new Executive Director to carry on the mission of preserving and showcasing the rich history of the Lake Havasu region. Applications for the Executive Director position will be accepted through Indeed from May 19th to May 31st. Link to the application portals will be posted on all Lake Havasu Museum of History social media accounts and websites. The selected individual for this vital role will be officially announced in early June.
